I picked up one of those as well - I will check it tonight - what the reading is from Vin and GND. My breakout board is fine - no issues at all with that so far.
Yeah, maybe a diode is backwards which would be real bad. One thing about this board too - I could see 'no clean' residue on the backside; not an issue by itself but at the same time you'd think
the board would be in better shape. The top side or component side seems to be fine in that regard; almost like they forgot to check the bottom.
I just opened a ticket via my other thread and input from Sergio - we will see how it goes. If the exercise is does the voltage clamp on Vin - yes it does. There are also at least two threads that are very similar to this on this forum. Would seem to me the buck circuitry needs work as long as we don't find there's a zener loaded backwards or something like that. Could be our friend in-rush current too which gets a lot of novice power supply designers which I would not think would be the case here.
