I recommend you installing the full version of Intel® PROSet Wireless Software and the Wireless Software Extensions included during custom installation. The Microsoft* Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapters are usually necessary for this type of connection.
You may also need the latest Intel® HD Graphics driver. If your system has switchable graphics I recommend you updating the third party graphics driver as well.
Let me ask, do you see any type of third party virtual network adapter drivers in device manager?
See if you are able to get any logs after the driver installation/update. Hopefully you will be able to do so once it prompts for the PIN code or shows “Follow the instructions on your TV”.
