I see. Well, yeah, that would require some compilation indeed. If you were unsuccessful trying to cross-compile it, I'd suggest you to try compiling it on Galileo directly - using either the devtools image: Re: Collaborating to develop a "devtools" version of Linux which is Arduino IDE compatable or a similar one, which would have the necessary compilation tools and libs available.
