I am trying to debug the OS before it reaches SSH ready stage so have concluded I need a serial connection to my Galileo. Am playing around with other OSs so downloading a sketch is also not an option.
I can see the recommended way is through the 3.5mm jack, but like most people, I don't happen to have a cable for it (nor do I have an RS232 to usb adapter yet).
Was wondering what is stopping the RX and TX ports being used instead? I have an FTDI cable which I would use for my Raspberry Pi and have been told would work with RX and TX pins (aka 0 and 1).
Surely that is a lot easier to work with (and cheaper)?
Suggestions?
